Reflecting on 2019

Before the festivities are upon us all, I’m taking time to reflect on the fantastic year it’s been at ECR.

xmas 2019

January

We started 2019 off with an installation at the beautiful Elms Barn wedding venue, then as February soon approached we completed an installation at the picturesque Crown Inn at Gissing.

February

February was a busy month and before we knew where we were March had arrived!

Josh installed a Touch screen with ICRTOUCH software along with the incredible Touch Office Web at a new salon in Norwich-Missy’s hair & beauty salon which is situated on Bank Plain in our fine city, we are extremely pleased to know they’ve had an incredible first year, and delighted to have been part of their adventure.

March

March was a very exciting month for us all at ECR as Josh was preparing for his wedding later that month. Josh married the gorgeous Lucy on a Caribbean beach in Jamaica! But, he did take me too as well as his dad Phil, 18 guests in all travelled to the paradise island.

We left ECR in very capable hands as we have a great dedicated team, three members of staff wouldn’t normally be away at the same time but this was a very special occasion.

The installations carried on throughout March with a system being installed at a stunning Norfolk Restaurant, Cley Windmill, the feeling of Spring was looming and many free demonstrations were being held in our Norwich showroom.

As we arrived at the end of March, Andrew installed systems at a very well known garden centre on the outskirts of Norwich, Homestead Nurseries, this installation was incredibly successful for Homestead and they have been overwhelmed with the service from our great team.

April

April started off with an installation in a fantastic Norwich pub, The White Lion in Oak Street, followed by installations of systems at Pettitts Animal Adventure Park, we were then well into Spring and Josh arrived back from his wedding & honeymoon just in time for the installation to take place at Oakington Garden Centre Cafe, Cambridge.

May

May saw the installation of Touch Screens at The Crown at Girton, Cambridge. Followed by systems installed at The Rosarium Restaurant at Peter Beales Roses. Andrew & Josh had an extremely busy month, as their next installation was at the beautiful Coldham Hall, where touchscreens were installed. As we approached for the end of May, Phil & Andrew worked together on an installation at Chunkys Pet & Angling Shop in Wroxham, Andrews IT expertise was put to great use.

June

June began with installations at the New Boudicca Hotel Restaurant & Bar, this beautiful venue was previously known as Caistor Hall. Massive renovations had taken place and ECR was the chosen EPOS providers once again for this stunning venue on the outskirts of Norwich.

Only a few days later Phil installed a system into The Little Chippy in Sutton St James. Our business is quite diverse and we supply, as you can see, to large businesses such as restaurants & hotels to smaller ones such as cafes, chip shop and small retail outlets. We provide bespoke packages to a large range of industries.

With over 40 years of EPOS knowledge we pride ourselves on the first class service we provide to our customers.

Later in June we had a call from The Waffle House in Norwich, they have been customers for many years and their systems have been upgraded over this period of time. They requested for all their software to be updated and this was carried out by Phil, one of our directors, who has built an incredible working relationship over the years with Ben & Nigel the proprietors, I’m pretty sure a waffle was consumed at the same time!

June was incredibly busy and we were extremely excited to be yet again the chosen EPOS providers for The Royal Norwich Golf Course along with their relocation to Weston Park, over the period of the following three months systems would be introduced as the building work was progressing and opening to the public. Vernon & Andrew were incredibly excited to be involved in the exciting project.

July

As July was approaching Andrew was preparing an installation of a kitchen ordering management screen to be installed at our customers Platten’s Fish & Chips in Wells-next-the-Sea on the north Norfolk coast.

As the summer was getting closer our customers were placing orders for their summer rentals and a few systems were delivered to The Wizard Maze, followed by systems installed by Josh to Gorefield Community Hall

At the end of July we were extremely honoured when our long term customers at No 33 Cafe Bar in Exchange Street in Norwich chose to upgrade all their Touch Screens as well as having handheld waiters pads. It’s always wonderful when your existing customers say they are very happy with our service and wish to continue their working relationship, I guess it speaks volumes on the service we provide.

August

August was upon us, and yes once again our existing customers at The Red Lion in Southwold contacted us, requesting a third system to be installed. The Touch Screen installed was the incredibly popular Zeo with integrated printer, this system has become our bestseller throughout the Summer and keen interest continues. A system was then installed at Henry Watson’s Potteries in Wattisfield, followed swiftly by a Touch Screen installation at St Cuthberts Church Cafe In Thetford.

September

September had arrived and we installed a further two wireless waiter handhelds at one of our existing customers restaurants, The New Forge in Aylsham. This is a very busy restaurant and handhelds provide an excellent service not only to the staff but a prompt & accurate service to their customers.

A busy September continued with installations of more Wireless Waiter Handheld Ordering Pads, this time they were installed at The White Horse Inn, Badwell Ash. Our Touch Screens are already installed here and now they have the ultimate package.

We then popped along to The Bakers Tea Room in Kings Lynn, where Josh installed the popular Zeo Touch Screen, as they have an integrated printer they are great especially if counter space is sparse.

September continued to be incredibly busy. Andrew was on hand as and when needed with the progression of installations at the New Royal Norwich Golf Club, as well as Andrew & Kurt`s continued IT support to all our customers.

Josh was also busy with our lovely new customers that had just taken over another traditional pub in Norwich, The Wildman. Touch Screens with ICRTOUCH point software were installed, the staff were trained and the programming was tweaked on the day. This very busy bar found in Bedford Street in Norwich is benefiting from these systems and the first class service provided by our great team.

Installations continued as Josh visited The Bugs Play Cafe in Bungay. He was then in Loddon installing yet another Zeo Touch screen at a new restaurant, The Terrace. As we approached the end of September a great installation took place at The Yankee Traveller in Great Yarmouth. Zeo Touch Screens were installed along with waiters hand ordering pads, along with many rentals being provided we came to the end of September.

October

October began spending time with our valued customers at The Pub on the Prom in Great Yarmouth. They switched their existing payment card providers over to Paymentsense which were successfully installed as well as upgrading all their software and Windows. Kurt completely reprogrammed their systems with new menus and they are now ready for the busy festive season.

Andrew was then visiting our customers at The Tourist Information Centre found in The Forum in the centre of Norwich. Installation took place of a new Touch Screen, and as always they were left with knowledge that ECR are at hand to help at any time.

November

November, always a busy month!

Phil was busy with a new customer in Great Yarmouth, The White Swan Fish & Seafood Restaurant. These lovely customers were keeping their existing Touch Screens they inherited but requested new software, this is never a problem for us here at ECR.

Rentals & Festivities

As I mentioned earlier, November is always an extremely busy month for us and this year has been no exception. Our valued customers at Elveden Estate are very busy indeed at Christmas. They have our systems throughout but at Christmas they always request further systems to provide their excellent service to their customers. They sell Christmas trees and many other festive goodies so extra systems help to keep their queues down and provide a first class service to their customers.

Andrew installed these and carried out any general requests whilst at the premises. These systems are all online so further changes or products that need adding can be carried out swiftly from our Norwich office.

As November swiftly came to an end we carried out installations at Narey Garden Centre near Stowmarket in Suffolk. This install consisted of a Touch Screen in their new cafe which was opening on 3rd December. As you will have already read the Zeo Touch Screen has been incredibly popular this year and Vernon has just installed this very system at the County Arts Club in Norwich.

If renting is something you maybe considering for your business, as regular monthly rental costs are often more favourable in comparison to one large sum of capital leaving the business, this option is something we offer short term as well as long term, a bespoke contract can be arranged especially for your business, purchasing, leasing & renting are the options we provide here at ECR.

Well where has this year gone? It continues to be very busy for us with many rentals booked in for our customers whom requests extra systems for the festivities.

Free demonstrations are busy also with many new customers making plans for 2020.

I really would like to say a massive “thank you” as the year draws to an end.

Our magnificent team at ECR, Jason who runs our office, as well as Jess who works extremely hard providing all our customers with their maintenance contracts, Andrew Josh & Kurt whom programs, installs, training customers & providing an outstanding service throughout the year.

We mustn’t forget Phil & Vernon, our two directors at ECR, known to so many of our customers for over 40 years!

They have a great reputation and together they make the perfect team, of course there’s myself Mandy who drives you all potty on social media with my posts. I will continue to keep you up to date with all the ECR News in 2020.

Thank you to all our customers this year for your business.

Bye for now…
Mandy
