The beautiful historic Cambridge Café, frequented by thousands of local students, shoppers, tourists every day is closing…and this could well be replaced by a modern café/bar.

Clowns was established in 1985 by Raffaele Sauchella, in recent years Genni and Michela have run this joyous family continental Café and we have been honoured to do business with the Sauchella family for more than 10 years.

Genni has said that sadly Raffaele her lovely Father at the age of 78 has always been fit and well but has recently been hit by almost every illness all at once and the family, quite understandably, wish to spend time with Raffaele.

I can remember very clearly sitting with Raffaele chatting about how he began his business, he had many stories to tell me and some were quite amusing.

At Clowns you were always guaranteed an extremely warm welcome from Genni and Michela, the coffees and food served at Clowns were delicious.

Clowns will still be trading for another few months until the new owner takes over.

Clowns will be sadly missed by many.

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the business and working relationship that we have built over the years with the Sauchella Family.

From all the staff at ECR.

Mandy
